Learn more about our team of professional advisors, and see who is the liaison for your residential college.
At Rice, you don’t just have one advisor – you have an entire community! The Office of Academic Advising (OAA) is the primary hub for academic advising at Rice University, and many professionals will help you in your journey. Click on each page in the advising network to learn more!
The OAA offers specialized advising for a variety of student populations. Our team of advisors is ready to help student athletes, transfer students, those seeking readmission, and students interested in pre-professional opportunities.
It's never too early (or too late) to ask for help. Services such as free individual and group tutoring are offered by the Academic Fellows & Mentors Societies and information on study skills and time management are also readily available. Please visit the information on these pages as well as any of our collaborative offices for assistance. If you still don’t know where to turn, meet with an OAA advisor for assistance.
All students should generate an academic plan that reflects their personal and educational goals, clarifies priorities, and makes the most of their undergraduate experience. Even with careful planning, students typically face challenges along the way. We are committed to assisting students with planning and helping them handle the challenges.
Understanding the various university policies and procedures is important for long-term planning and degree attainment. The pages here can help students better navigate course registration, academic standing, and more.
