Peer Academic Advisors

• are competitively selected and extensively trained by the Office of Academic Advising (OAA)
• serve their respective residential college community by providing peer advice to fellow students about a wide range of academically-related topics
• have personal experience as a Rice student and offer accurate advice regarding specific courses, co-curricular opportunities, academic rules and procedures, and a wide range of other topics
• have specific goals and expectations related to helping their fellow students
• may take a 1-credit professional development course to enhance their abilities to advise

Your PAAs live right alongside you in your residential college! They serve as familiar and approachable contacts who can answer questions and point you in the right direction if they cannot answer a detailed question.
