Burns joined the academic advising team in March 2026 but has been working at Rice since October 2024 as the Assistant Director of Student-athlete Development and Letterwinner Engagement. Prior to Rice, Burns worked in areas of Governance and student-athlete programming at the conference and NCAA level. Burns earned her master’s degree from the University of Georgia in 2022 after graduating Summa Cum Laude as a rowing student-athlete from the University of Louisville in 2020 with a degree in Sport Administration. The Atlanta native enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
