Hello! My name is Laura, and I'm excited to support you and your journey at Rice! I’m originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I earned my bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and my master’s degree in Music from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Before joining the Office of Academic Advising, I worked at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, where I advised MBA students. I am passionate about supporting students in their academic journey and helping them navigate their college experience with confidence.

Outside of work, I enjoy freelance performing as a soprano, gardening, and trying new foods with my husband, Alex, who teaches at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice. I’m excited to get to know you and support your success at Rice!
