Hello! My name is Laura, and I'm excited to support you and your journey at Rice! I’m originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I earned my bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and my master’s degree in Music from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Before joining the Office of Academic Advising, I worked at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, where I advised MBA students. I am passionate about supporting students in their academic journey and helping them navigate their college experience with confidence.

Outside of work, I enjoy performing as a freelance soprano, gardening, and spending time with my husband, Alex, who teaches at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice, and our son.
